Job summary

SES Constructors LLC is seeking a Lead Estimator to join our civil construction team and lead self-perform estimates for major projects. The role emphasizes detailed quantity takeoffs, subcontractor sourcing, risk assessment, and collaboration with field and office staff to meet submission deadlines.

This remote position requires EST/CST availability, occasional travel, and a bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering is required.
• Field experience in self-perform contracting of civil infrastructure scopes is required.
• Experience estimating federal projects is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, and schedules; proficient with CPM scheduling and estimating software such as Bid2Win and HCSS Heavy Bid.
• Must obtain any applicable clearances to access military installations if required.
• Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Produce self-perform heavy civil cost estimates including crew assemblies and production rates.
• Provide detailed quantity takeoffs and cost assessments.
• Identify, source, and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes for best value.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Collaborate with field and office teams during preparation of each estimate.
• Meet interim milestones for constructability and productivity reviews to meet submission deadlines.
• Support constructability reviews through project team communication and vet subcontractor pricing.
• Interact with Operations post-award for alternates, options, and site condition considerations.
