Job summary

SES Constructors LLC is seeking a Lead Estimator for our growing civil construction practice. This remote position requires candidates to operate in EST or CST time zones and may entail periodic travel to meet bid and project needs.

The ideal candidate will prepare detailed self-perform cost estimates for heavy civil projects, perform quantity takeoffs, and coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure comprehensive scope coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering is required.
• Field experience in self-perform contracting of civil infrastructure scopes such as earthwork, utilities, dewatering, demolition, roadwork, and pavement.
• Experience estimating federal projects is preferred.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specs, scopes of work, and project schedules; proficient with CPM scheduling.
• Must be able to obtain any applicable clearance levels for access to military installations.

Responsibilities

• Produce self-perform heavy civil cost estimates including crew assemblies and production rates.
• Provide detailed quantity takeoffs and cost components for materials.
• Source and evaluate subcontractor/vendor quotes for best value.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation plans with the project team.
• Collaborate with field and office professionals to prepare each estimate.
• Meet milestone reviews and support constructability/productivity assessments.
• Vet subcontractor pricing and support post-award site-condition analyses.
• Coordinate with operations on alternates and bid-day considerations.
