Kin Insurance seeks an Insurance Counsel - Forms to lead drafting for personal auto and property forms as Kin expands into new states. You will translate statutes into filing-ready policy language and advise internal teams on coverage interpretation.

You will own the drafting for your line, review regulator objections, and help establish reusable language and state form packages. This role supports ongoing state expansions through 2027 and beyond.

Qualifications

• JD required with 5+ years of policy form drafting experience.
• Experience drafting personal auto and property forms for multiple states.
• Experience reading state insurance statutes/regulations and converting to policy language.
• Experience drafting regulator objections and responses.
• Experience advising internal teams on coverage interpretation.
• Track record delivering filing-ready forms packages independently.

Responsabilités

• Research state statutes and regulations and translate them into compliant, clear policy wording.
• Draft responses to Department of Insurance objections on forms and advocate Kin's position with regulators.
• Provide legal advice on coverage interpretation and form wording to internal partners.
• Draft complete new state and product forms packages for your line of business, including base policies and endorsements.
• Perform first-pass legal review of forms and elevate novel state law questions.
• Build and maintain the countrywide base forms and state kit for your line.
• Establish drafting standards and reusable language for faster state packages.
• Design and deliver internal training on Kin's policy forms and regulatory expectations.
• Serve as backup drafter for the other line of business.
• Identify legal risks in proposed product designs before form drafting.
• Review AI-assisted drafts for legal accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain and update forms packages in response to statutes, DOI bulletins, and product changes.
