Job summary

Kin Insurance seeks an Insurance Counsel - Forms to turn aggressive state and product expansion into filing-ready policy language. You’ll anchor a line (personal auto or property) and back up the other, drafting complete forms packages and advising on regulatory questions.

You’ll work within the Forms team in Legal & Compliance, collaborating with Claims, Product, and Customer Experience to ensure filings comply with statutes and regulators. JD required with 5+ years drafting experience.

Qualifications

• JD required with strong drafting and regulatory interpretation skills.
• 5+ years of policy form drafting experience.
• Experience drafting personal lines policy forms for multiple states.
• Ability to read state statutes/regulations and convert into policy language.
• Experience drafting regulator responses on form filings.
• Ability to advise business stakeholders on coverage interpretation.
• Track record drafting complete forms packages independently.

Responsibilities

• Draft state and product forms packages for your line of business.
• Translate statutes/regulations into compliant policy wording.
• Advise internal partners on coverage interpretation and form wording.
• Respond to regulator objections and advocate for Kin's position.
• Review form drafts and elevate novel state-law issues to Senior Counsel.
• Maintain and update base forms and state kits for your line.
• Design drafting standards and reusable language for speed.
• Provide internal training on policy forms and regulatory expectations.
• Serve as backup drafter for the other line of business.
• Identify legal risks in proposed product designs before drafting.
