Kin Insurance is seeking an Insurance Counsel - Forms to turn aggressive state and product expansion into clear, filing-ready policy language. You will own drafting for your line of business, anchoring in-state requirements and regulatory expectations.

You'll research statutes, respond to DOI objections, and collaborate with Claims, Product, and Underwriting to ensure coverage interpretations align with business goals.

Qualifications

• JD and 5+ years of policy form drafting experience.
• Experience drafting personal lines policy forms for multiple states.
• Experience reading state statutes and regulations and converting into policy language.
• Experience drafting responses to regulator objections on form filings.
• Experience advising business stakeholders on coverage interpretation and policy wording.
• Track record of drafting complete forms packages independently, from research to filing-ready.

Responsabilités

• Research state statutes and regulations directly and translate them into compliant policy wording.
• Draft responses to Department of Insurance objections on forms and advocate Kin's position with regulators.
• Provide legal advice on coverage interpretation and form wording to internal partners.
• Draft complete new state and product forms packages ready for filing.
• Perform first-pass legal review of forms and elevate novel state law questions.
• Design and deliver internal training on Kin's policy forms and regulatory expectations.
• Serve as backup drafter for the other line of business.
• Identify legal risks in proposed product designs or coverage changes before form drafting.
• Review AI-assisted drafts for accuracy and establish guardrails for AI use.
