Job summary

Pena4 Inc. is seeking an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) to join our remote coding team. The role requires 5+ years of IP PCS experience, 100% remote work, and a regular day shift on a full-time W2 basis.

The successful candidate will possess CCS certification, have experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS, HCPCS, CPT coding references, and be capable of achieving high accuracy while supporting DRG assignments. An assessment test will be administered.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years IP PCS coding experience required.
• CCS certification is required.
• At least 3 years OP coding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Examines the complete medical record to determine diagnoses and procedures.
• Accurately sequences diagnoses and procedures with high accuracy.
• Seeks optimal DRG assignments with computer assistance.
• Maintains productivity and coding quality.
• Requests additional information when needed and contacts staff as required.
• Keeps current with coding guidelines and shares knowledge with colleagues.
• Completes assignments as directed by management.
• pursues continuing education and professional development.
• Works as a team member to meet client goals.
• Performs related duties or projects as required.
