Job summary

Pena4 Inc. seeks an experienced Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) for a 100% remote, full-time role. Must have at least 5 years of IP PCS coding experience and CCS certification; OP experience is a plus. A coding assessment will be required as part of consideration.

Responsibilities include accurate coding of inpatient and outpatient accounts, DRG optimization, and ongoing education to stay current with guidelines. Start date is immediate; remote collaboration with the team is essential.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years inpatient PCS coding experience.
CCS certificate is required.
Remote full-time role; weekdays schedule.

Responsibilities

Examine complete medical records to determine principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures.
Accurately sequence diagnoses and procedures; maintain high accuracy.
Aim for optimal DRG assignments with support from computer systems.
Maintain consistent productivity and quality levels.
Hold accounts when more information is needed; contact staff as required.
Stay current with coding guidelines and share updates with colleagues.
Complete assignments as directed by management.
Pursue continuing education to enhance coding knowledge.
Collaborate with team to meet department and client goals.
Perform related duties or special projects as assigned.
