Baptist Health System, Inc. is seeking a Full-time Inpatient Hospital Coder to join the Appeals & Denials Department in a remote capacity. The role focuses on correctly identifying and assigning ICD-10-CM/PCS codes and CPT-4 codes for inpatient and observation accounts.

The candidate should have 3–5 years in an acute care setting, RHIT/RHIA/CCS credentials, and experience with encoder and EHR systems. Remote work is allowed for specified states.

Qualifikationen

• 3–5 years experience in an acute care setting required.
• Proficient in ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding.
• Experience with inpatient coding and documentation review.

Aufgaben

• Identify and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient accounts.
• Assign CPT-4 codes on Observation accounts when applicable.
• Verify and submit abstracted information to the billing system for claims submission.
• Maintain Coding A/R goals by accurate and timely coding for discharged accounts.
• Work with Management, CDI and HIM on coding documentation.
• Mentor Coders, CDI and staff; perform auditing and training.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, effective communication and time management.
• Utilize encoder and EHR systems efficiently.
