Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders for a fully remote role. You will assign diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS, ensure accurate code abstraction from records, and lead coding quality reviews.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of inpatient coding facility experience.
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
• Accurately sequence and abstract codes from patient records with precision.
• Oversee and audit the work of Level 1 & 2 Coders where applicable.
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues.
• Uphold a 95% coding accuracy rate and 95% MS-DRG accuracy.
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks.
• Communicate with colleagues and hospital staff on clinical and reimbursement issues.
