Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders for a fully remote position with a flexible schedule. The role focuses on accurate ICD-10 coding, chart abstraction, and auditing junior coders while upholding strict accuracy standards.

Team collaboration and continuous improvement are emphasized to support healthcare stakeholders nationwide. Requirements include at least 3 years of inpatient coding experience, and AHIMA credentials or related certifications are valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of inpatient coding experience in a facility.
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes.
• Sequence and abstract codes from patient records with precision.
• Audit work of Level 1 & 2 Coders when applicable.
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and 95% MS-DRG accuracy.
• Meet site-specific productivity benchmarks.
• Communicate professionally with colleagues and hospital staff.
