Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders to join our remote team. You will assign diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS, sequence and abstract codes from records, and audit junior coders.

The role emphasizes documentation improvement and collaboration with hospital staff to ensure accurate reimbursements. Requirements include at least 3 years of inpatient coding in an academic or trauma setting, with CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of recent inpatient coding facility experience.
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with coding quality review feedback is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
• Accurately sequence and abstract medical codes from patient records.
• Oversee and audit the work of Level 1 & 2 Coders where applicable.
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues with stakeholders.
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks and coding accuracy.
