Job summary

Datavant is seeking an experienced inpatient coder for a fully remote role in the United States. You will assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes, abstract records, and oversee junior coders while maintaining high accuracy and productivity benchmarks.

Candidates should have at least 3 years of inpatient coding experience, with CCS/RHIT/RHIA credentials preferred. Datavant offers comprehensive benefits, CEUs, and a supportive, collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of inpatient coding facility experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• CCS, RHIT, RHIA preferred or AHIMA/AAPC credentialing.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS
• Sequence and abstract codes from patient records with precision
• Oversee and audit Level 1 & 2 Coders where applicable
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and 95% MS-DRG accuracy
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks
• Communicate with colleagues, management, and hospital staff regarding clinical and reimbursement issues
