Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders to join our team in a fully remote role with a flexible schedule. You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, abstract patient records, and ensure accuracy and productivity benchmarks.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of inpatient coding, CCS/RHIT/RHIA preferred, and strong written and verbal communication skills. AHIMA/AAPC credentials are a plus. We offer training and mentorship as part of a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Inpatient coding experience at a facility (minimum 3 years).
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes.
• Abstract and sequence codes from patient records with accuracy.
• Oversee and audit Level 1 & 2 Coders where applicable.
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues.
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks.
• Collaborate with hospital staff on clinical and reimbursement issues.
