Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders to join our remote team. You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, abstract records, and oversee coding quality while adhering to documentation standards. The role emphasizes accuracy and collaboration with healthcare teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of inpatient coding experience at a facility
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred certifications
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS
• Sequence and abstract medical codes from patient records with precision
• Audit the work of Level 1 & 2 Coders where applicable
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues
• Maintain an overall 95% coding accuracy rate and 95% MS-DRG accuracy
• Uphold site-specific productivity benchmarks
• Communicate professionally with colleagues, management, and hospital staff
