Gainwell Technologies LLC is seeking an Inpatient Coding Auditor, Senior Associate to perform coding reviews of medical records and other documentation to determine correct coding per contract-specific methodologies. The role requires access to proprietary systems to audit records and document findings, with emphasis on MS-DRG, AP-DRG, APR-DRG, ASC and APC payment systems.

Qualifications

• 1+ years professional AHIMA or AAPC credentials required.
• 3+ years coding inpatient or outpatient claims required.
• Proficient with ICD-10 CM/PCS, APC, ASC, HCPCS, and CPT coding methodology.
• Knowledge of APR-DRG, AP-DRG, and MS-DRG.
• Experience in medical record auditing.

Responsabilités

• Performs audits of medical record documentation to determine the accuracy of principal and secondary diagnosis (including MCC & CC) and procedure codes.
• Adheres to official coding guidelines, coding clinics and regulatory guidelines and mandates.
• Draws on advanced ICD-10 coding expertise to substantiate conclusions.
• Utilizes HMS proprietary auditing systems to document audit determinations and rationale.
• Consistently achieves productivity and quality performance standards established by management.
• Actively cross-trains to perform reviews of multiple claim types to meet client needs
• Assists management with training new Coding Auditors with daily monitoring and education.
• Maintains current knowledge of coding guidelines and completes CEUs to maintain coding certification.
• Attends training and scheduled meetings to enhance skills and knowledge of clinical policies and regulations.
