Job summary

Datavant is seeking an Inpatient Auditing Specialist to address coding quality, compliance assessments, payer reviews, and education. This fully remote role offers flexible scheduling, supporting healthcare data integrity from your home workspace.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years inpatient coding/auditing experience, CCS certification, and familiarity with Epic/Cerner EMRs. PRN, ~20 hours/week, with competitive hourly pay and benefits for eligible staff.

Qualifications

5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
CCS required; RHIA or RHIT preferred.
Maintain 95% DRG accuracy rate.
Experience with Epic, Cerner, and other EMRs.

Responsibilities

Performs Inpatient Facility coding audits according to scope of work for Onboarding, Focused, SLAs or other reviews using MS DRG or APR DRGs.
Provides rich and concise rationale explaining the reasoning behind identified changes, including references and documentation locations.
Keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
Organizes and prioritizes multiple cases concurrently to ensure workflow and turnaround time.
Provides coder education via the auditing process.
Function in a professional, efficient, and positive manner.
Adhere to AHIMA's code of ethics.
Must be customer-service focused and exhibit professionalism, flexibility, dependability, desire to learn and commitment to excellence.
High complexity of work function and decision making.
Strong organizational, teamwork, and leadership skills.
