Job summary

Datavant is seeking an Inpatient Auditing Specialist to perform inpatient facility coding audits, justify changes with detailed rationale, and stay current with regulatory updates. The role supports onboarding, focused reviews, and SLAs, and includes PRN time for IA IP auditing.

The position is fully remote with a flexible schedule and potential 20 hours/week. Spinal experience and strong query skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
• Maintain 95% DRG accuracy rate.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner, and other prevalent EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Performs Inpatient Facility coding audits according to scope of work using MS DRG or APR DRGs.
• Provides rationale explaining the reasoning behind changes with references to documentation.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
• Organizes and prioritizes multiple cases to ensure workflow and turnaround time.
• Provides coder education via the auditing process.
• Adhere to AHIMA's code of ethics.
