Job summary

Datavant is seeking an Inpatient Auditing Specialist to address coding quality, compliance assessments, and external payer reviews. This fully remote role offers a flexible schedule and opportunities to influence healthcare data integrity from your own workspace.

Key responsibilities include conducting inpatient facility coding audits using MS DRG/APR DRGs, providing clear rationales, staying current with regulatory changes, and educating clinicians through the auditing process.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
• CCS (required), RHIA or RHIT preferred
• Maintain 95% DRG accuracy rate
• Experience with various software including Epic, Cerner, and other prevalent EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Performs Inpatient Facility coding audits according to scope of work for onboarding, focused reviews or SLAs using MS DRG/APR DRGs.
• Provides concise rationale explaining the changes with specific references and location of documentation.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes affecting coding practices.
• Organizes and prioritizes multiple cases to ensure optimal workflow and turnaround time.
• Provides coder education through the auditing process.
