Datavant is seeking an Inpatient Auditing Specialist to assess coding quality, conduct audits, and educate coders across a remote, flexible schedule. You will review ICD-10/DRG coding, provide precise rationales, and stay updated on regulatory changes, delivering high-quality results for healthcare clients.

The role emphasizes robust experience in inpatient facility coding, CCS certification, and proficiency with EMRs like Epic and Cerner, with a focus on accuracy and ethical practice.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
• CCS (required), RHIA or RHIT preferred
• Maintain 95% DRG accuracy rate
• Experience with Epic, Cerner, and other prevalent EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Performs inpatient facility coding audits according to scope of work, for onboarding, focused reviews or SLAs, using MS DRG/APR DRGs.
• Provides rationale with specific references and documentation locations.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
• Organizes and prioritizes multiple cases to ensure workflow and turnaround time.
• Provides coder education via the auditing process.
• Act in a professional, efficient, and positive manner.
• Adhere to AHIMA's code of ethics.
• Be customer-service focused, flexible, dependable and eager to learn.
• Handle high complexity of work function and decision making.
• Demonstrate strong organizational, teamwork, and leadership skills.
