Job summary

Datavant, a data collaboration platform for healthcare, is seeking an Inpatient Auditing Specialist who will conduct inpatient facility coding audits, provide rationale for changes, and stay current with regulatory updates. This role is fully remote with a flexible schedule and may include additional PRN hours.

You will educate coders during the auditing process, manage multiple cases, and uphold AHIMA ethics. CCS is required; RHIA/RHIT preferred; Epic and Cerner experience are valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
• CCS (required), RHIA or RHIT preferred
• Maintain 95% DRG accuracy rate
• Experience with Epic, Cerner EMRs

Responsibilities

• Performs inpatient facility coding audits according to scope of work.
• Provides rationale with references and documentation location.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
• Organizes multiple cases to ensure turnaround time.
• Educates coders via the auditing process.
• Adheres to AHIMA code of ethics.
• Demonstrates customer-service focus and professionalism.
