Job summary

Datavant is seeking an Inpatient Auditing Specialist to perform inpatient facility coding audits and provide detailed rationale for changes. The role involves regulatory awareness, educator support for coders, and maintaining high DRG accuracy while handling multiple cases remotely.

Qualifications include 5+ years inpatient coding/auditing experience and CCS certification; RHIA/RHIT preferred. Familiarity with Epic and Cerner EMRs is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
• CCS is required; RHIA or RHIT preferred.
• Maintain 95% DRG accuracy.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner and other EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Performs inpatient facility coding audits per scope of work.
• Provides concise rationale with references and location of docs.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
• Organizes multiple cases to optimize workflow and turnaround.
• Educates coders via the auditing process.
• Adheres to AHIMA code of ethics.
• Demonstrates professionalism, flexibility and commitment.
