Job summary

Datavant is seeking an Inpatient Auditing Specialist to perform inpatient facility coding audits, provide rationale for changes, and stay current with regulatory updates, all within a fully remote role with flexible scheduling. PRN support for IA IP auditing and spinal experience are a plus, with prefered 20 hours/week.

The role requires 5+ years of inpatient coding/auditing, CCS certification, and experience with EMRs like Epic or Cerner.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
• CCS certification required; RHIA/RHIT preferred.
• Maintain 95% DRG accuracy rate.
• Experience with EMRs such as Epic and Cerner.

Responsibilities

• Performs inpatient facility coding audits per scope of work using DRG logic.
• Provide concise rationale with documentation references for changes.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and best practices.
• Educate coders through the auditing process.
• Organize multiple cases to ensure efficient workflow.
