Datavant is seeking an Inpatient Auditing Specialist to conduct facility coding audits, provide clear rationale for code changes, and ensure quality across onboarding and reviews. This fully remote role offers flexible scheduling and optional PRN support, including spinal experience and part-time hours.

The role emphasizes 5+ years inpatient coding/auditing, CCS certification, and high DRG accuracy, with proficiency in Epic and Cerner EMRs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
• CCS (required), RHIA or RHIT preferred.
• Maintain 95% DRG accuracy rate.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner, and other prevalent EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Performs inpatient facility coding audits according to scope of work using MS DRG or APR DRGs.
• Provides concise rationale with references and documentation locations.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
• Organizes multiple cases concurrently to ensure workflow and turnaround time.
• Provides coder education through the auditing process.
• Adheres to AHIMA code of ethics.
