Job summary

Datavant is seeking an Inpatient Auditing Specialist to conduct facility coding audits and provide expert rationale for changes. This fully remote role emphasizes regulatory awareness, education for coders, and adherence to ethics, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency in a flexible schedule.

Applicants should have 5+ years in inpatient coding/auditing, CCS certification, and hands-on experience with Epic and Cerner EMRs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
• CCS certification required; RHIA/RHIT preferred.
• Maintain 95% DRG accuracy rate.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner, and other EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Performs inpatient facility coding audits per scope of work using MS DRG or APR DRGs.
• Provides clear rationale with references and documentation locations.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
• Organizes and prioritizes multiple cases for optimal workflow and turnaround time.
• Provides coder education through the auditing process.
• Adheres to AHIMA code of ethics.
• Demonstrates customer-service focus, professionalism, flexibility, and commitment to excellence.
• Recognizes high complexity in work and uses strong organizational, teamwork, and leadership skills.
