Job summary

Datavant is seeking an Outpatient Auditing Specialist to support coding quality, compliance assessments, and payer reviews across healthcare clients. This fully remote role requires 5+ years of outpatient facility coding/auditing experience and CCS or RHIA/RHIT credentials, with Epic/Cerner EMR familiarity.

You will provide detailed rationale for changes, stay current on regulatory changes, and educate coders through the auditing process.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of outpatient facility coding experience and/or auditing.
• CCS or RHIA/RHIT required.
• Maintains 95% accuracy rate.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner, and other prevalent EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Performs Outpatient Facility coding audits of medical records and abstracts using ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers.
• Provides rationale explaining changes with references and documentation location.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
• Organizes and prioritizes multiple cases to ensure workflow and resolution.
• Provides coder education via the auditing process.
• Adheres to AHIMA's code of ethics.
