Job summary

Datavant is seeking an Inpatient Auditing Specialist to conduct facility inpatient coding audits and provide detailed rationale for changes. The role supports onboarding, focuses reviews, and adherence to SLAs across various EMR systems.

This fully remote position requires 5+ years in inpatient coding/auditing, CCS certification, and strong knowledge of DRG accuracy. Epic and Cerner experience are preferred as you collaborate with healthcare clients.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
• CCS (required), RHIA or RHIT preferred
• Maintain 95% DRG accuracy rate
• Experience with various software including Epic, Cerner, and other prevalent EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Performs Inpatient Facility coding audits according to scope of work, for onboarding, focused, SLAs or other reviews, using MS DRG or APR DRGs.
• Provides rich and concise rationale explaining the changes, including references and documentation locations.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
• Organizes and prioritizes multiple cases concurrently to ensure workflow efficiency.
• Provides coder education via the auditing process.
• Function in a professional, efficient, and positive manner.
• Adhere to AHIMA's code of ethics.
• Be customer-service focused with professionalism, flexibility, dependability and willingness to learn.
• Handle high complexity of work and make informed decisions.
• Demonstrate strong organization, teamwork, and leadership skills.
