Job summary

Datavant is seeking an Inpatient Auditing Specialist to support coding quality, compliance assessments and payer reviews. This remote role offers a flexible schedule, with additional PRN IA IP auditing support. Spinal experience is a plus; 20 hours/week preferred.

You will audit inpatient facility coding, justify changes with precise rationale, and stay updated on regulatory guidelines while delivering high-quality education to coders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
• CCS certification required; RHIA/RHIT preferred.
• Maintain 95% DRG accuracy rate.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner and other prevalent EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Performs Inpatient Facility coding audits according to scope of work for onboarding, focused reviews or SLAs.
• Provides rationale with references and documentation locations for any changes.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
• Organizes and prioritizes multiple cases to ensure optimal workflow and turnaround time.
• Provides coder education via the auditing process.
• Adheres to AHIMA's code of ethics.
