Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders for a fully remote role in the United States. The candidate will assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes from patient records, maintain high accuracy, and support documentation improvement projects. A minimum of 3 years inpatient coding experience and CMS/AHIMA credentials are preferred.

The role offers a flexible schedule, strong collaboration with care teams, and ongoing training in a growth‑oriented data‑driven healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Three years of inpatient coding experience in a facility setting.
• CCS/RHIT/RHIA credentials preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes from patient records.
• Ensure accurate sequencing and abstraction of codes.
• Oversee and audit Level 1 & 2 coders where applicable.
• Support documentation improvement opportunities with stakeholders.
• Maintain site productivity benchmarks and high coding accuracy (95%).
• Communicate professionally with hospital staff and management.
