Job summary

Baptist Health System, Inc. in Jacksonville, FL, seeks a Full-time Inpatient Hospital Coder to join the Appeals & Denials Department at Baptist Metro Square.

You will be responsible for identifying and assigning ICD-10-CM/PCS diagnoses and CPT-4 codes, and for submitting accurate abstracted data into the billing system. This remote position requires knowledge of CPT coding, encoder usage, and EHR proficiency, with state-based remote eligibility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma Required
• RHIT and RHIA credentials preferred
• CCS certification preferred
• Experience in acute care coding required

Responsibilities

• Identify and assign diagnoses and procedure codes using ICD-10-CM/PCS for inpatient accounts.
• Apply CPT-4 codes for applicable observation accounts.
• Verify and submit abstracted information to billing for claim submission.
• Maintain coding accuracy and meet A/R goals and denials workflow.
