Job summary

Baptist Health System, Inc. is seeking an Inpatient Hospital Coder for a remote role in the Appeals & Denials Department. The position requires RHIT/RHIA/CCS credentials, 3–5 years of acute care coding experience, and inpatient coding expertise. Remote work is limited to approved states with Jacksonville as the primary location.

The coder will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT-4 codes, ensure accurate abstracts for billing, and collaborate with CDI, HIM, and management to maintain AR goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• RHIT, RHIA, or CCS certification AHIMA required.
• 3–5 years acute care coding experience.
• Inpatient coding knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient accounts.
• Assign CPT-4 codes on Observation when applicable.
• Submit abstracts to billing system for claim submission.
• Support Management, CDI and HIM; mentorship and auditing.
