Job summary

Baptist Health System, Inc. is seeking an experienced Inpatient Hospital Coder to join the Appeals & Denials Department in Jacksonville, FL for remote work.

The role focuses on correctly identifying and assigning ICD-10-CM/PCS diagnoses, CPT-4 codes for inpatient and observation accounts, and submitting abstracts to the billing system. You will collaborate with Management, CDI and HIM on documentation, provide mentorship, and support audits and training while maintaining accuracy to meet AR

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in acute care coding required.
• Experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT-4 coding.
• Knowledge of claim edits and denial management.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS diagnoses and CPT-4 codes for inpatient accounts.
• Submit abstracted information to the billing system for claims.
• Collaborate with CDI, HIM and management on coding documentation.
• Support auditing, training and mentorship within the coding team.
• Maintain accuracy to support coding AR goals and deny resolution.
• Work with minimal supervision and communicate effectively.
