Job summary

Baptist Health (Jacksonville) is hiring a Full-time Inpatient Hospital Coder to join our Appeals & Denials Department. You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient accounts and support billing accuracy.

A RHIT, RHIA, or CCS credential is required; 3–5 years of acute care coding experience; strong critical thinking, communication and time management skills; and proficiency with encoders and EHR.

Qualifications

• Education and certification: RHIT or RHIA or CCS per AHIMA.
• 3–5 years’ experience in acute care coding.
• 3–5 years’ coding knowledge in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assign diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10-CM/PCS for inpatient accounts.
• Code CPT-4 on Observation accounts when applicable.
• Submit abstracted information to billing for claim submission and maintain Coding A/R goals.
• Collaborate with Management, CDI and HIM; provide mentorship and participate in audits and training.
