Qualifications

• RHIT/RHIA/CCS credentials required
• 3–5 years acute care coding experience
• Proficient in ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT-4 coding

Responsibilities

• Identify and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient accounts.
• Apply CPT-4 codes on Observation accounts when applicable.
• Submit abstracts to billing system for claims submission.
• Maintain coding accuracy to meet A/R goals.
• Mentor and audit coding staff; coordinate with CDI and HIM.
