Job summary

Mosaic Life Care is seeking an Inpatient Coder II to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for various inpatient services. You will query providers, resolve edits, and analyze documentation to ensure accurate coding in line with guidelines.

Mentorship of coders and collaboration across departments are key parts of the role. Education includes HIM coding knowledge with relevant degrees; 3 years inpatient HIM experience and CCS/RHIA/RHIT certification are required.

Qualifications

• Must have coding education with knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology and anatomy, query guidelines.
• 3 years HIM inpatient acute care coding experience.
• CCS, RHIA or RHIT certification required.
• Proficient with encoder and EMR systems; strong data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient services (acute, rehab, swing bed, LTACH).
• Query providers to improve documentation and demonstrate severity of illness.
• Mentor and train coders; ensure accuracy of coding for regulatory data.
• Collaborate with clinical documentation integrity and other departments.
