Job summary

Mosaic Life Care is seeking an Inpatient Coder II to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for acute care inpatients and related services. You will query providers, analyze documentation, and ensure compliance with coding guidelines. Mentorship and training of coders are included.

Qualifications include 3 years HIM inpatient acute care coding, CCS/RHIA/RHIT credentials, and a degree in Health Information Management or Medical Records. Remote work is available for certain states.

Qualifications

• Requires coding education with knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology and anatomy.
• Associate's Degree in Health Information Management / Medical Records required; Bachelor's preferred.

Responsibilities

• Codes complex diseases, procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10-CM/PCS.
• Queries providers for documentation improvement.
• Mentors and trains coders.
• Attains coding quality and productivity goals.
