Job summary

Mosaic Life Care is seeking an Inpatient Coder II to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for acute care inpatient services, including LTACH. You will query providers for documentation, resolve edits, and perform analysis to ensure accurate coding and DRG assignment.

You will collaborate with clinical documentation integrity, revenue integrity, and other teams, mentor coders, and participate in ongoing professional development while aligning with regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Requires coding education with knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology and anatomy.
• Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or Medical Records required, or Bachelor's Degree in HIM preferred.
• CCS, RHIA or RHIT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient services (acute care, LTACH).
• Query providers to clarify documentation.
• Resolve intermediate coding edits and analyze documentation for accuracy.
• Collaborate with CDI, revenue integrity and other teams to ensure coding accuracy.
• Mentor and train coders; meet quality and productivity goals.
