Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders for a fully remote role with a flexible schedule. The position requires meticulous attention to detail and deep knowledge of medical terminology, focusing on ICD-10-CM/PCS coding and MS-DRG accuracy.

The role includes supervising Level 1 & 2 Coders, driving documentation improvement, and maintaining productivity benchmarks. A minimum of 3 years inpatient coding experience and AHIMA credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of inpatient coding experience.
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
• Sequence and abstract codes from patient records with precision.
• Oversee and audit Level 1 & 2 Coders where applicable.
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and 95% MS-DRG accuracy.
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks.
• Foster professional communication with colleagues, management, and hospital staff.
