Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders for a fully remote role with a flexible schedule. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of inpatient coding and strong attention to detail in medical terminology. CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.

You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, ensure accurate sequencing and abstraction, and lead audits of coding work. The position emphasizes accuracy, productivity, and cross‑functional collaboration within a healthcare data environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of inpatient coding experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes from patient records.
• Sequence and abstract medical codes with precision and proper documentation.
• Oversee and audit Level 1 & 2 Coders when applicable.
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues with stakeholders.
• Uphold a 95% coding accuracy rate and 95% MS-DRG accuracy.
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks.
• Engage in professional communication with colleagues, management, and hospital staff.
