The role emphasizes accuracy, collaboration, and leadership of coders, with a strong focus on documentation improvement and stakeholder communication. Eligible candidates have 3+ years of inpatient coding experience and relevant credentials. This is a fully remote opportunity with a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of recent inpatient coding facility experience.
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
• Abstract medical codes from patient records with precision.
• Audit the work of Level 1 & 2 Coders.
• Champion documentation improvement and resolve coding issues with stakeholders.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and 95% MS-DRG accuracy.
• Meet site productivity benchmarks.
• Communicate professionally with colleagues, management and hospital staff.
