Job summary

Datavant, a leading data collaboration platform for healthcare, seeks experienced inpatient coders for a fully remote role. You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, abstract records, and oversee coding audits.

A strong emphasis on accuracy, quality reviews, and collaboration with hospital teams is required. Ideal candidates have 3+ years inpatient coding experience, CCS/RHIT/RHIA preferred, and AHIMA/AAPC credentials or related education.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of inpatient coding experience
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• AHIMA-certified HIM or Nursing program degree or AHIMA/AAPC certificate with CCS preference

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS
• Sequence and abstract codes from patient records with precision
• Oversee and audit Level 1 & 2 Coders where applicable
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and discuss with stakeholders
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and hospital staff on clinical and reimbursement issues
