Job summary

Datavant is seeking an experienced inpatient coder to work remotely with flexible scheduling. You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, ensure accurate sequencing, and audit junior coders to uphold coding quality and productivity.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of inpatient coding experience and prefers CCS/RHIT/RHIA credentials. This role includes comprehensive training and collaboration with healthcare teams nationwide.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of inpatient coding experience
• CCS/RHIT/RHIA preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes
• Sequence and abstract codes from records with precision
• Audit the work of Level 1 & 2 Coders where applicable
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and 95% MS-DRG accuracy
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and hospital staff regarding clinical and reimbursement issues
