Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders for a fully remote role with a flexible schedule, enabling you to contribute to healthcare data quality from your own workspace.

You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, abstract patient records, audit Level 1 & 2 coders, promote documentation improvements, and maintain 95% coding accuracy and 95% MS-DRG accuracy, all while meeting productivity benchmarks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of inpatient coding experience.
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes.
• Accurately sequence and abstract medical codes from patient records.
• Oversee and audit the work of Level 1 & 2 Coders where applicable.
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues.
• Uphold an overall 95% coding accuracy rate and 95% MS-DRG accuracy.
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks.
• Foster professional communication with colleagues, management, and hospital staff.
