Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders to join a fully remote, flexible team focused on healthcare data accuracy and documentation improvement. You will assign codes (ICD-10-CM/PCS), sequence from records, and audit Coders while maintaining high accuracy and productivity standards.

The role requires 3+ years inpatient coding experience, CCS/RHIT/RHIA preferred, and strong communication skills. We offer comprehensive benefits and a collaborative work environment across the healthcare

Qualifications

• 3+ years of inpatient coding experience
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• AHIMA/AAPC certification is a plus

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
• Accurately sequence and abstract codes from patient records with precision.
• Oversee and audit the work of Level 1 & 2 Coders where applicable.
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues with stakeholders.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and 95% MS-DRG accuracy; uphold productivity benchmarks.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, management, and hospital staff on clinical and reimbursement issues
