Job summary

Datavant is seeking an experienced inpatient coder to join our remote team. You will assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes, sequence and abstract diagnoses and procedures from records, and audit junior coders to maintain accuracy and compliance across facilities.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of inpatient coding experience, AHIMA credentials (CCS preferred), and strong written and verbal communication. We offer comprehensive benefits, education stipends, and remote work flexibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of inpatient coding experience in a facility
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes
• Sequence and abstract codes from patient records with precision
• Oversee and audit Level 1 & 2 Coders, where applicable
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy rate and 95% MS-DRG accuracy
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks
• Foster professional communication with colleagues, management, and hospital staff
