Job summary

Datavant is seeking an experienced inpatient coder for a fully remote role with a flexible schedule. You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, abstract records, and uphold high accuracy while supporting quarterly productivity goals.

The role also involves supervising Level 1 & 2 coders when applicable, and contributing to quality audits. Requirements include at least 3 years of inpatient coding experience and AHIMA credentials (CCS/RHIT/RHIA preferred).

Qualifications

• 3+ years of inpatient coding experience
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes
• Abstract medical records accurately
• Oversee Level 1 & 2 coders where applicable
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and 95% MS-DRG accuracy
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks
• Collaborate with hospital staff on clinical and reimbursement issues
