Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders for a fully remote role with a flexible schedule. You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, sequence and abstract from patient records, and oversee coding quality.

The position emphasizes accuracy, productivity, and collaboration with hospital staff and management. Ideal candidates have 3+ years inpatient coding experience and certifications such as CCS/RHIT/RHIA, plus experience with encoding software.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of inpatient coding experience
• CCS/RHIT/RHIA preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS
• Sequence and abstract codes from patient records with precision
• Audit Level 1 & 2 Coders where applicable
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues
• Maintain overall 95% coding accuracy and 95% MS-DRG accuracy
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks
• Communicate with colleagues, management and hospital staff on clinical and reimbursement issues
