Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders for a fully remote role with a flexible schedule. You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes from patient records, ensure accurate sequencing, and mentor junior coders as needed.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years inpatient coding experience, with CCS/RHIT/RHIA preferred and strong communication skills. AHIMA/AAPC credentials are a plus. We provide training, equipment, and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years inpatient coding experience at a facility
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes from patient records
• Sequence and abstract medical codes with precision
• Oversee Level 1 & 2 Coders where applicable
• Champion documentation improvement and coding issue resolution
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and 95% MS-DRG accuracy
• Meet site productivity benchmarks and collaborate with staff

Skills

3+ years inpatient coding experience

Strong verbal and written skills

Education

CCS, RHIT, RHIA preferred

AHIMA/HIM degree or AHIMA/AAPC CCS certificate
