Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders to join our remote team, offering a flexible schedule and the chance to impact healthcare data coding quality from your home workspace. A minimum of 3 years in inpatient coding with CCS/RHIT/RHIA credentials is preferred.

You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, sequence medical records for accuracy, and mentor Level 1–2 coders. Maintain high accuracy, meet productivity benchmarks, and collaborate with stakeholders across facilities.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of recent inpatient coding facility experience.
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes.
• Accurately sequence and abstract medical codes from patient records, ensuring precision and adherence to documentation.
• Oversee and audit the work of Level 1 & 2 Coders, where applicable.
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues, facilitating resolution with relevant stakeholders.
• Uphold an overall 95% coding accuracy rate and a 95% accuracy rate for MS-DRG assignments.
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks.
