Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders to join our team. This fully remote role emphasizes high attention to detail and deep medical terminology knowledge, enabling you to contribute to healthcare data accuracy from your own workspace.

Responsibilities include assigning ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, auditing Level 1 & 2 coders, and maintaining 95% coding and MS-DRG accuracy, while collaborating with clinicians and management.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of inpatient coding experience
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes
• Sequence and abstract codes from patient records
• Audit Level 1 & 2 Coders (where applicable)
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and resolve coding issues
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and 95% MS-DRG accuracy
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks
• Communicate with colleagues, management, and hospital staff
