Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders for a fully remote role with a flexible schedule. You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, sequence and abstract records, and audit junior coders while meeting 95% accuracy and MS-DRG targets.

The position emphasizes collaboration with hospital stakeholders and documentation improvement opportunities. Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of inpatient coding, AHIMA credentials preferred, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of inpatient coding facility experience.
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes.
• Accurately sequence and abstract medical codes from patient records, ensuring precision and adherence to documentation
• Oversee and audit the work of Level 1 & 2 Coders, where applicable
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues, facilitating resolution with relevant stakeholders
• Uphold an overall 95% coding accuracy rate and a 95% accuracy rate for MS-DRG assignments
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks
• Foster professional communication with colleagues, management, and hospital staff, while addressing clinical and reimbursement issues
